Squier Jagmaster Review
Author: Dave
Just bought a secondhand one chinese made. For the price, the Jagmaster is a SERIOUS bargain and a great guitar. Yes it lacks refinement and the electronics/pickups etc hardly make it a tone machine, but it is great for the price.
A good set up, lemon oiling of the neck and some 10 or 11 strings and it plays/sounds great as standard. Pickups lack real tonal definition or depth but they can be easily changed to improve matters. The simple design actually eliminates many of the flaws of Jazzmasters/Jaguars.
I think Fender a missing a trick here. The Jagmaster could easily be made as a highend guitar with the same craftsmanship, wood, electronics etc as the USA Jazzmaster/Jaguar reissues. Yes it would make the Jagmaster more expensive, but a highend model would be HIGHLY desirable and an amzing player.
I'll be keeping my Jagmaster alongside my USA Jazzmaster!
