Fender American Special Series

Squier Super-Sonic

I have to admit I was not a big fan of them back in the 90s as the silver and blue sparkle finishes really turned me off them.  The Olympic White and Black models looked much better but it seemed like all the guitar stores were carrying only the sparkle colors and not the solid colors.

So how many Squier SuperSonic fans are out there?  Leave some comments to tell us why you like it so much.

Those new to Fender guitars often find the many different colors to be confusing.  Is the guitar sonic blue, daphne blue, seafoam grean, or surf green?

• ’65 Mustang Reissue increases from $699 to $939.
• Classic Player Jaguars and Jazzmasters increase from the $799-$849 range to the $1069-$1119 range.
• American Vintage Jaguars and Jazzmasters increase from $1499 to $1900.
• J Mascis Jazzmaster increases from $999 to $1269.
• Squier Jagmaster increases from $249 to $279.

There are still some guitar retailers around who are offering their old stock at the older prices.  So if you’ve been on the fence about picking one up it would be a good time.

Are you a Fender Jaguar or Jazzmaster owner? What led you to your choice?  And if you happen to own both we want to hear your comparisons between the two guitars.

While very similar on the surface the Jaguar and Jazzmaster have some basic differences. Below are some of the technical differences between the Classic Player Jaguar and Jazzmaster. 

• The jazzmaster has a 25.5″ scale neck while the jaguar has a 24″ scale neck.
• The jazzmaster has 21 medium jumbo frets – the jaguar 22.
• The controls and pickup switching are different between the two.
• The significant differences between the pickups of the two. 
• The new classic player jaguars also have more pickup options like the dual humbucker jaguar model.

With those basic differences what ultimately led to your choice? What do you recommend people currently shopping for one or the other look out for?
