Oh #### me. Leave him alone already. Can't the people who like him just continue to like him without having annoying #### fan girls fawning over him anymore? I'm 13, and I love being the only person at my school to like Nirvana and Kurt. If this happens and it hits big I'm going to move away somewhere where I can love the music and the people of Nirvana in peace.

Not intending to sound hugely patronising, but when I was the same age as you four years ago I thought the same way, but now I kind of look back and laugh. You may like being the outider type who is the only one who listens to the music you love, but some of the people who will end up into Nirvana after this movie may not have known where to look for music properly before, and this will be a kind of gateway into proper music instead of just passively listening to the radio or whatever. I think the movie is a good thing in this respect. Plus, c'mon, fawning fangirls.

Okay I saved up for at least four months and I'm looking to buy into a new guitar...I really like the highway 1 series but am torn between which of the series should I get (strat/tele)  I already have a mexican strat so do I really want another strat? Or should I get a tele b/c i've never owned one before?

If you are thinking of buying a guitar simply because you have "never owned one before", then you are buying it for the wrong reason. I've never owned a Gretsch While Falcon, but I'm not going to buy one just because I've never owned one.

I almost bought a Squier CV Duo-Sonic a few months ago just because I didn't have a guitar of that shape, but then I realized that I hate the necks on the CV series, and I bought a Deluxe Strat instead and couldn't be happier with it. I'm so happy with it, I'm leaving it totally stock, which is rare for me.

My advice is take your time, go to the guitar store and play a few of all varieties, and fall in love with one.

ok seriously I dun even know who you're yelling at, but shut up, we're trying to be helpful and apparently you have some problem that you're not even telling us. if you want it to stay in tune better do Mad-Mike's trem setup or do the hardtail mod that I did. The way strings feed is irrelevant. DON'T FREAKING YELL ABOUT THINGS THAT DON'T FREAKING MAKE SENSE OR THAT DON'T HAVE A FREAKING POINT!

or better yet you could sell your jag-stang and buy a guitar that works for you since you weren't having the best of luck with your jag-stang last time you were on here either.

yeah, i agree with you - plus this is the dream guitar for the modders...a lot of alternative guitarist buy a jazzy and mod it anyway by changing the pickups or putting masking tapes on the rhythm controls(probably because its busted or to avoid using that 'thing') its also an s.o.p. to put hb on the bridge(the only difference in this case its because its a jazzy not a mustang)

Yup! If I was going to swap out all the electronics anyways, why not start with the base model? As far as I am concerned alderwood is alderwood and necks tend to vary mostly by radius, length, and frets. How much you paid for it generally doesn't seem to feel different from playing with $2,000-$3,000 guitars and $100 ones. It is about how the guitar feels to you and sounds to you. I think people look at the stuff that their favorite musicians play and think they have to have that guitar to emulate that sound. While that is somewhat true, it doesn't mean you can't use a entry strat or tele to perform songs originally performed on Les Pauls. Great players can make most anything sound good. Buy a guitar that sounds and feels right and fits your budget.

that bassman combo thing is AMZING@!

  i still have most of my 77 bassman ten, i want to make a sort of hot rod deluxe style open back cab for it, and that cherry stain with the hemp looking cover is fantastic looking! i may try and do something like that for it!

Maybe one of the soldering points came loose? I would open it up and reflow each connection and see if that helps. Also try different cables to make sure it wasn't an amp or cable issue.

I did a search and didn't find any relevant threads so figured i'd ask. Is there anyone still here that could make a left handed red tort pickguard for a 69 reissue stang? I decided to put my black super distortion back in my mustang and with the brown tort, its just too dark. Most custom places i've seen charge a ridiculous up charge for it to be left handed so i figured i'd ask here. I do remember some people around here did make them before but i've been away for awhile.

I would use pickguardian.com. Tony there does awesome work and has great red tortoise material. He would just need a tracing/drawing of what you would need. Here is a picture of the tort guard he made for me.

Hi, I haven't been posting much lately. The forum has been dead, and I havn't been guitaring much.

But I had to see what people think of the 'Pawn Shop' series.

Seems that Fender is becoming more like Squier all the time. No new designs, just more bastardized versions of old favourites.

But great to see the return of the mighty 51!!!

Get the second one. Way more versatile instrument.

Because, being an ex-Heroin addict of over 12 years myself I know how much Smack even the hardest user can take before he is completely incapacitated. There is absolutely zero fvking chance Cobain wacked that much smack and then was able to pick up a gun. Why? Simple, that much smack would have killed him to start with! Smack, when injected hits the brain instantly, not minutes later, not seconds later, but instantly. He also had Benzodiazepines in his system, which makes shooting smack a game between life and death depending on the amount of benzos.

And why would anyone purposely overdose on smack, BUT shoot them self BEFORE the smack took effect??? That makes ZERO sense and that is assuming smack doesn't work instantly when in fact it does! I know it does because I have injected it thousands of times and every single time it hit instantly, that is science people, that is observable, repeatable science!

Anyone that says Cobain killed himself is a narrow minded fool in my opinion, they are the same type of people that don't believe the US government assassinated Kennedy and the war in Iraq is legit!

This, to me and millions of others, is what makes the loss of Cobain that much worse. He wanted to keep making music,just not as Nirvana but most importantly he wanted to LIVE and we have lost a musical genius of the modern age because of some untalented bitches greed and psychopathic tendencies towards self agrandization and fame and fortune!


Say what you will, this is my opinion and as far as I'm concerned its the objective truth!
