Hi there to everyone, i'm Bob a new member.

I have a CIJ '62 Reissue Jaguar (sunburst), an for some reason I wanna fit a string mute. I know everyone with USA Jags takes em off, but you know I wanna be a bit different.

I know you can get em and fit em to CIJ Jags, but here in England I have no idea where to get one. Am wanting complete kits, with springs and chrome covers. Must be genuine Fender an all.

Can anyone help us??????

Cheers

I've also ordered from http://www.guitarpartsresource.com to the UK and they're pretty decent. One time they actually cocked up my order and sent two of everything I'd ordered without charge.

Welcome bob, Wednesday fan i take it?

guitarpartsresource are good to deal with, they deliver quite fast. Fitting the mute means drilling a hole in the body and you'll need to make some kind of spring plunger you know?

Hi mate

Yeah i'm aware of drilling, what i'm wanting is to find the full kit with plunger/spring/mute plate and foam piece. Can't find one anywhere in UK!

Cheers

You wont found a full kit anywhere unless Fender USA decided to start stocking spares or someone is selling one removed from a US Jaguar.

I fitted a Mute about 5 years ago, the plate is the only thing available. For the foam i used a strip of mouse pad, i made a plunger from a piece of plastic (sanded it to a cylinder shape) and found a spring with some decent tension.
