Added amp knobs to my Jag-Stang and upped the pots to 500k. The red/red distorts the amp even at level five volume. It is way hot.

Thanks! I like them a lot too. Some people say they look cheap because they are on the Blacktop series, but I think they look cool. Numbers are nice if you are trying to set a specific tone or volume.

i happen to like the blacktop series! and werent fender guitars meant to be a cheap/mass market modular kind of product? ie the neck breaks, so replace it. try doin that with a les paul! and the attraction of jagstangs n mustangs etc is the kitchy vibe, the child-like qualities.
i havent used those ampknobs before, but arent they also real easy to use for delicate adjustments and volume swells etc?

I think they are cool looking and work well. Simple design and classic vibe to them. To me, they have an old fashion look that I like. (I own two Blacktop Jazzmasters and I like them a lot.)

Not really. I can do a sound demo this afternoon maybe. They sound good. Same as Radiohead's guitarist has in his tele, but I upped pots to 500k.

yea im a big billy corgan fan, he used to use em, but ive read bad things about them. never used em myself, i probably should, but i aint in a position to be buying them anyways

Doesn't hurt to try them out. They do have a lot less background/electrical hum/noise and I can get them up close to the strings without magnetic issues. The blue is ok, but I really gid the red/red. It is HOT. I have trouble getting it clean. (Not that I want it that way, just funny how much power it has.) If you like distortion and that stuff, it is good for that.

My Dad was a musician and he passed away in 2010 after a long battle with diabetes. He idolized Kurt Cobain and owned 5 or 6 of these guitars along with a number of other guitars and instruments so I told my sister I wanted this one because it is a lefty and my son is left handed (he wants to play the drums though). Anyway, I thought it would be cool if he could play this someday. If not, I'll probably just sell it. This guitar was from the 1995 run IIRC. It is in near mint condition, one small ding on the body and that's it.

Some New(ish) Photos of me rockin' out on my EMG's wonder. Recently swapped vibratos with my 66' Mustang as the 66' unit has more range....FLOYD ROSE range, I have to palm mute to keep the strings in the saddles sometimes during bar dives .

have never been into Jagstangs... but with p90s it looks wicked. Very curious on how it sounds.

don't mean to sound like a wiener haha, but what do you mean by "red/red"
are you referring to the wiring?
