sonic blue, but looks white in the stage lights though...
white vs sonic blue
I'm a huge fan of the brown tort on the sonic blue. Was the white Mustang repainted? Hard to tell, but it doesn't look like Olympic White.

I prefer the red/white tort, but when I got the Jagstang brown/orange tort I was a little disappointed but when it all got put together, it looked better then I had expected.
I refinished the 66 Mustang (white lacquer from home depot), it was natural when I got it... the pickguard is also vintage, I think 65... it was broke near the neck pocket and already routed for a humbucker... I didn't care, just happy to track one down, love the deep red/white in it.

Hello there) I still need the year of Cobain's Mustang. 65, 66, or 69?
This one:
He used all sorts of Mustangs. It depends on if you like the contours or not. The newer reissues tend to be Daphnie Blue vs Sonic Blue, but you can get a Warmoth body painted and contoured however you like.

One of the most note-worthy of the assorted lefty Mustangs he used was a 1969 Lake Placid Blue "competition" Mustang
Early 60's sonic blue Mustang, serial # F207901, no pickguard. It was used in Geffen's "In Bloom" video
Early 60's sanded-down Fender Mustang used when Jason Everman was with the band.
1977 sunburst Mustang with black pickguard, serial # S 714567
despite how many pictures appear, Kurt never used a white Mustang. The sonic blue tend to look white, especially with the crazy light show NIRVANA had during the "In Utero" tour.
Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are. - Kurt Cobain
