Fender Amplifier for Fender Jaguar ?

Hey all,

I am looking for a fender amplifier for @ home and some studio recording.

I am a smiths fan, beatles, stone roses, the who, the jam , ...

I was thinking about those amps:

Fender Blues Junior

Fender Twin Reverb

Fender Deluxe Reverb

I can't chose which one would suit me,i played them all @ stores but not the vintage ones.

Maybe i can go for a Vintage Fender deluxe reverb?

Does it need to be fender? Because there are some great clones out there. Try some of the stuff bugera has to offer and also, look for a crate vintage club. Yeah, its a crate, but they don't make it any more and it has some great reviews. As an owner of a blue voodoo, I can confidently say that crates of that time were top notch.

If you are going to use it just for home and recordings, I think that the Twin is a bit too loud. A Deluxe Reverb is perfect for that environment, even the reissue is really good.

But if you like all those English bands, i think that maybe you should try also some good Class A low watt combos, such as Vox AC15 (Beatles, Smiths or the Jam, often used the AC 30, but it's too loud to use at home!), Laney VC15, even the Marshall Bluesbreaker.

You've failed horribly with this thread though... Posting on a pretty dead forum, giving minimal information. Can't do much more wrong if you want lots of quality help.

Seems a decent place to ask considering its Jaguar related, hows the guy to know traffic is steady here 😕

I'd forget the Twin too, not just the fact its ridiculously loud its also big and heavy makes it inconvenient for home use.

The Deluxe Reverbs have great clean tone, the Vox reissues are expensive, the originals are even more expensive. Them Laneys got some bad reviews concerning overheating, some people even went to the extent of fitting a PC fan in the back of them just to circulate some cool air.

Depends what you want to spend really?

Jag's sound good through most stuff.

He was being a bit negative dude despite him being a top guy.

This place, other than the official Fender Forum is the longest standing place for 'alternative' Fender users, its over 10 years old and i dont care to think how many Jaguar users have been here. Things have been slow lately and you may get more feedback at a place like offsetguitars.com or shortscale.org, i post on all these forums and the advice you get here will be as good as any although it may arrive more slowly.

Kudos to your taste in music btw, The Smiths, The Who, Stone Roses... love them bands 😎

In my opinion a good low wattage amp can do that job as good if not better without extra bucks, extra size and extra weight. A JMI 30 or a Vox AC30 to play at home is like buying a Formula 1 to drive at 40mph. Even a Conford Harlequin (a must have in every studio) can sound 1000 better in that environment. But hey, just my opinion....

Except it doesn't sound like an AC30, or have the vib/trem channel. For small amps, I think silverface Vibro-champs are the way to go.

Brilliant amp. Has a master volume too, so no need to worry about it being too loud. It looks to be in brilliant condition too. Go for it, if you think you'll like the Fender silverface tone.

no way man, i have used so many Twin verbs, AC30's in my house and for jams and stuff. they work freaking great as long as your not trying to get to much of a "bR00TaLz" tone out of them.

i think i would buy a hot rod deluxe, but that's just me. they are good enough for bloc party and the horrors.

Actually, Josh of The Horrors used to use DeVilles, he uses twins and ac 30s now though.

when i saw them about a month and a half ago, he used a deluxe, AC30 and his selmer (spelling?). but the deluxe could have been rented.

Yeah, i use a 8x12 stack with a 120w handwired vintage Thor head in my living room. It sounds great. My missus hates it and the slipped disc in my back from moving it around is just a small price to pay for being cool as fvck 🚬

Lol, jus kidding Foxy but srsly, if he can get something more portable and smaller i'd go for that considering what he wants it for. Not like he's needing it to play at Stonehenge.

I know you know your stuff (I lurk ILF 😆 ) but this is wrong.... I've never seen pics of him with a twin... And I'm a huge Joshua nerd.

I've seen pics of him with:

DRRI, Vox AC30, Selmer Compact 30sv, Hot Rod Deville.

Usually it's only two amps at a time. But here he has 3 amps out, and only 2 mic'd, so it might just be for show >_>

And here we see the selmer out, but not mic'd.
