I have a baritone I recently bought that was a parts guitar. The current pickguard I don't really like aside from the color of it.

Since I'm wanting to change the pickguard I thought maybe I'd mod it a little more as I don't particularly like where the stock controls are.

Here is the stock guitar as it stands now.

Maybe with the switching above the knobs.

Other ideas or suggestions are more then welcome. I'll more then likely go with white knobs (mustang or witch hat) and white slide switches. I'm toying with the idea of slanting the switches and mouth them above the knobs (below the bridge pickup)

Edit - After thinking a bit about it heavy knurled brass knobs might look better, especially after they age a bit.

I like the idea of the 3 slide switches, it's interesting. Is that extra 4th knob ring to be a tone knob? If it is then i would suggest having one universal tone knob for all three pickups, it would save you from drilling an extra hole into your new pickguard. As for the placement of the controls since you don't have the 5 way switch you should have plenty of room to move the controls away from the bridge. However, i don't like the controls on the 1st mock-up everything looks really crowded. You should grab a jaguar switch plate for the slide switches, and is the jack moving to the side of the guitar or staying put? Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input.

Yea I'm going to change the output to the side of the guitar. As for the controls I was thinking the 3 slide switches would the 3-ways and wired like a Mustang. I know I want at least series/parallel options. I wouldn't mind phase switching as well though.

Can I get the Brian May switching options with 3 Mustang slide switches?

The four knobs I was thinking of using as vol/tone from the bridge and neck pickups and having the middle go straight the the output jack. If I thought I could fit a vol/tone for each pickup I would. I suppose I could use stacked potentiometers.

Or possibly having the bridge go straight to the output instead of the middle. I tend to you the middle and neck much more then the bridge.

I really like the top draw-up idea. I like how it is a combo of a Tele Deluxe and a Strat body. Also, the switches make it look even more unique and it would also be more versatile. Very interesting draw-ups, both look great man!
