I recently sold my Rickenbacker and have been looking since at fender jaguars. Yesterday I came across a beautiful 1966 Jaguar for sale, in sunburst, completely original (including case).
It has collected the inevitable dings and scratches over the years but it appears in very good shape otherwise. Asking price is around 3900 USD. I was wondering if this is a good deal for this instrument since I know very little about vintage guitar values myself. Just want to make sure the asked amount is fair and not pulled out of thin air.
Thanks for your help!

I haven't seen this guitar, so I cannot tell you much about whether or not it's worth it. I can tell you, that if you look on eBay, you can come across vintage Jaguars for cheaper than $3,900.00. Although, a lot of them are right around that price. I will post a couple of examples for you.

1966 Fender Jaguar w/ Rare Dots and Binded Neck - $2,350.00

1968 Fender Jaguar w/ Block Inlays - $2,500.00

Again, those are the only two I came across that are considerably cheaper than $3,900.00. Although, there are other examples on eBay right around the price range if you are looking for a specific color and/or style. Good luck man, and I hope someone else can else chip in and help you out here. Hopefully someone with a little bit more knowledge and experience with vintage Fender's.
