Just came in today and I am pretty psyched. It is a 50th Anniversary Jag-Stang as far as electronics and neck go, but it has a black Warmoth body, Texas Special neck and JB humbucker in the bridge. Looks pretty sick. I need to do a little wire work on it and I want to have 1meg pots in it. Should be ready to rock pretty quick. It is hard tail modded too so that is cool. I also need to order some strap locks for her and I am set. Pictures below.

Got the pickguard off and pots out ready to be rewired. I have anther three way switch coming and 1meg 6mm split pots for volume and tone.

I will likely use this diagram for fun. Interesting options. I might never use them, but I like that they make good use of the switches.

Very cool! Is that a production jag-stang neck? Wondering how well the fit is between the production Fender jag-stang neck and the warmoth body?

All the parts aside from pickups, the new pots, and the body are from a Sonic Blue Jag-Stang (1996) that the original owner transfered on to the new black body and got a black warmoth guard for it. The pocket has to be sanded a little to get stock Jag-Stang necks to fit because of the Japanese vs US neck heel difference. Takes about ten minutes of hand sanding to get it nice. Not too big of a deal to me. :)

Did some work today. Neck was a little too snug in the pocket for my taste so I lightly sanded the pocket so it fit a little better. Probably because Warmoth does US speck pockets and Jag-Stang necks are the little wider Japanese variety. I conditioned the fretboard. Beautiful. Neck is back on now, but I took some pictures.

Thanks! It is pretty sleek. I can't wait to get the rest of the parts so I can HEAR how she sounds. Hopefully as good as she looks. :)

Pots and strap locks came in today so I got to work. This diagram is much more goofy to wire, but I got the one slider wired up. Just waiting on the other. Even got the knobs back on the new 1meg pots. :) Should be pretty sweet.

I got her all wired up and strings on. Neck and bridge pickup sound great.... on their own. I forgot SD's pickups need to be wired reverse to Fender's. I will swap the hot and ground with the Fender pickup after I get some new strings. Looks sexy!

Pickup demo as promised. :) Amplitube had trouble recording it well. Probably because the pickup outputs are so high. It sounds much better through my real twin. :)

I like a Super Distortion better clean than a JB, but I haven't tried it with my DS-1 or DS-2 yet. Might be a totally different ball game. The JB is more bassy to me than a Super Distortion. I might have to build another Jag-Stang just to have one with a Super Distortion as well in it.

To me the SD tends to have more bass. I found a few smaller companies that have decent pickups cheap. i'll have to post a clip of one of my recordings with them.

that was on my mustang with some dragonfire vintage PAFs, or whatever theyre calling them. theyre as hot as a JB or SD and are alot cheaper.

Nice! :)

i payed i think 30-40 for the set, came with a neck and bridge one. I love them, and my buddy who also plays heard them through my SS amp and said he liked that they had a bit of a tube like sound to them.
