Value question?

I'm wondering about the value of guitars at the moment since I've got a bit of money around and wanted to invest in something.

The guys at my store said that the Fender Standards always gain the most value over time, so I'm looking maybe to invest in a nice Tele (shockhorror)

I like teles, but Im not sure I like them that much to get one, even if it gains value with age.

SO, what Im trying to say is, if I invest in an AVRI jaguar or anniverary model, will it do the same? Or even if I bit the bullet and bought a KC mustang or a KC jaguar, would they since they're signature models?

What would you recommend?

I want something that I wouldnt mind babying, but something that could gain value so I could sell it a few decades in the future if theres any money problems etc.

I grabbed a KC Jaguar lefty. I honestly don't see Fender keeping up production on the KC models, especially since they announced Squier Mustangs and Jaguars.

I'd imagine the KC Jags / Stangs will more than likely hold their value for awhile before finally getting up in value, but it really depends on how long they are produced.
