Found a Jag-Stang in a pawn shop, should I buy?

Hello everybody! I was surfing around and found this forum, what a great place!

I have a quick question. I found a Jag-Stang in good condition at a local pawnshop, the guy is asking $400 for it. Not bad, but the original humbucker has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan something-or-other. Should I pick this up, try to talk him down a bit, ect?

yup, 400 is a decent price for one, even if its a later issue. if you think you can talk him down a bit, try it, you never know ,you may be able to get it for like 300 bucks. in the past 5 years they have def grown in price, my 96 was 360 bucks back in 99, and if i hadn't have modified it and played it for the past 12+ years it would be worth a bout 1,000.00 and more to some folks.
