Jaguar HH classic player with humbuckers.
I fell in love with the looks of the jaguar and jazzmaster and then I heard them and wasn't so sure...until I got flat wounds and a pro setup.
I so wanted to get a Jaguar; I own 3 strats and a les Paul and I wanted something that could give me the distorted crunch of a Gibson and the classic fender twang - this guitar delivers, and a whole lot more. The humbuckers deliver in a big way and the fact you can dial into single coils is just incredible...versatile doesn't come close.
I don't have the largest hands so the short-scale neck is a godsend...and like fellow reviewer Jazzman states, these guitars cry out for flatwounds...and despite the school of thought that flat wounds are only for jazzers, with thick humbucking distortion, this guitar chugs like a rocking beast.
Another important thing I have learnt is that a pro setup will give you a new guitar...the action on mine is now close to a strat and is very low, with no buzz or rattling. The flats probably help, too.
Finally, the finish on this guitar is up their with the US finished guitars. Amazing.
