Tuners - any updated suggestions?

I have an original issue jag-stang with a few mods. I’m keeping the guitar forever, so not really worried about keeping it “vintage.” The parts that I replace are…not the good ones.

The original ping tuners are worn and done. Would not really want them again even if they were available.
I’m not really looking to drill/etc if possible. Drop in preferred.
I’ve searched the forums, but the only recommendations I’m seeing are older discontinued Klusons. And when I find one of the discontinued models, it’s $50 shipping alone to the US.
I was hoping that someone found a newer drop in option.

Ended up with Gotoh sd91
Seemed to fit and looked almost exactly like the original ones, other than the bushings seeming very slightly wide, despite being listed as 8.8mm which should fit. I had to force the last part on the bushings in with a cloth/pliers. Was not successful with just the included tool. Depth seemed identical side by side. 2 sets of bushings ship, one set is proper.

Also contacted Fender. They mentioned the only vintage tuners they have are these. also mentioned that my guitar appears to be a vintage serial number that they cannot find on record. Thought that was funny. 1996 vintage. Guess they need to check the mail in records.

I was also linked to bushings that are likely the wrong size - closer to 9mm

Thanks for the update on your tuner journey! Recommending "drop-in" tuners has always been difficult because of the issues you've been encountering. Bushing sizes, different mounting screw positions, etc... Those Gotoh sd91 do look very close! If you ever come across the perfect fit make sure and update us. Cheers!
