snowman said: My CIJ Jag has 1M ohm volume and tone pots in the lead circuit which is a very high rating. Most single pole guitars have 250K and humbuckers 500K. I assume these 1M pots are part of the jag high treble sound. I am thinkining of replacing them with 250K pots (same as a strat or tele) in the hope of a more versatile guitar. Has anyone done this or have any advice?
surely having a guitar with 1M pots is far more veratile - turn your tone pot down to 4-5, and boom you have a 250k tone pot!
think mad-mike has 500k pots in his jag, and yeh they sound decent.
Also the Fener Cyclone II is loaded with jag pickups and uses either 250k or 500k pots - however, everone says it just sounds like a Strat, it loses that Jaguar feel.
