the '65 reissues are quite a bit different. they have a slab body (no forearm and tummy contour, like the other japanese reissues). the edge contours circularly smooth, rather than having a kind of table edge route that all the others have. i don't know about the inards of the guitar. i didn't really think that the pots or pickups were any different, but then again, i'm not really sure.
the neck is also different. it has a slab fretboard, made of darker rosewood. the nut width is slightly bigger than the other japanese reissues. it's the same as a jaguar on the '65s. it also has a smaller headstock and 12th fret dot placement is near together (like an american vintage series fender).
the bridge on the '65 is a much better and acurate version of the 60's mustang bridge. all the saddles are correct size and there are no gaps inbetween them. the other japanese mustang bridge have gaps inbetween the saddles
