honestly i want to let you guys in on a secret.
necks are alot easier than they seem, honestly. it is prett simple, you have to farthers up widthe, mean from the point at where the nut sits. that is your base as you where your fretboard will bee. but that comes later
then you tell where the back of your head stock will be, this will be even with the heel, the penci out 3 inches in at the heal, and where the nut sits. then take it down to about half an inch or so, maybe less of how thick you want your neck to be, mine before the fretboard was 18mm at the nut and 20mm at the 12th. and with it ats about 3-4 milimeters.
but anywho my jaguar(av ) is something like 21-24. thats pretty thin neck really. with out the board it looks horrid, and frail. but no worrie you got messure out the exact center of the neck messure the depth of the truss rod, then just take that bastard to the table saw, remember to measure twice, and cut once.
so yeah.
im rambling a bit now.
but basically you do that. then lay out the template(if you have one, if not then good luck) and figure the neck design and stock design. cut it all out and you will need to raspe the stock to give it mroe curves.
drill the tuner slots. stuff like that.
the fret board is a whole nother story.
i will make up a thread about it
