Oh man. Yesterday, I found out my mom spent the money I gave her to make the money order with. She said it must have gotten lost in the mail and that she accidently sent it to my grandma. I called her yesterday (my grandma, to see if she'd re-mail it for me, but she said she never got it. I then realized that my mom got new hair extensions, which are expensive, on top of other things. I don't understand hair extensions. I am so disapointed. The guy e-mailed me today asking where it was, so I made something up to buy time. When I found this crap out, my face went from this -> 😀 to this -> ☹ . I guess I'll have to play th eused one at guitar center. Her excuse was that she thought that she'd get the money back quickly somehow. So, uh, this sucks.

My friend said he'd give me the money on Friday, but I think he might have been just kidding. If he does, wow, what a good friend. If not, I'm not surprised because our school checks you before you walk in, and it'll look a little weird with him coming in with all that money. BTW, I didn't ask him for the money, I told him what happened and he asked stuff like when did the auction end and stuff. I had no idea he was going to offer to pay for it. I'll pay him back if he does.

Dont you get a receipt or stub when you make a money order? you do in the UK (we call em postal orders), so that you can prove you made one (hence why it's better than sending cash). Ask to see that.

Your school checks people as they come in???!! what for exactly??? And what do they do? wow thats weird.

Yeah but there's been loads of school violence in America, Columbine anyone? People smuggle Tec-9's in and stuff. The most you get at my school is the occasional BB gun, and some arseholes bring in flick knives to impress their mates.

This is how they check us, its like were prisoners:

1. We take off shoes and socks and have the dude check it.

2. We open our mouth because some girl brought a razor to school in her mouth (####ed up, right?)

3. Metal Detector (People were bringing cell phones)

4. Lift Pant Leg

5. Check all pockets

6. No makeup.

It sucks

problem is, if someones gonna shoot up their school, checking everyone isn't going to stop them - they'll just shoot the security guards.

Guess it stops people bringing knives/guns to school, but again if you really wanna kill someone this isn't going to stop you.

Actually the terms of Ebay state that unless the person marked their auction as "immediate payment required" (its an option in ebay), you have 30 days to pay.

You're not allowed to take mobile phones? Damn, it's almost considered wierd if people DON'T take mobile phones to school in the UK.

All electronic equipment (iPods, Phones etc) are banned at school unless you're 6th form, but they don't really enforce it.

Yeah that's true, are the security guards armed? I realise how easy we have it int he UK now.

You have the best of both worlds with the QP...

1/ It fits perfect, including into the pup cover and claw

2/ It is a single coil designed specifically for the Fender Jaguar

3/ It's low noise

4/ It can cope with a blazing amplifier, controlled feedback, pinch harmonics and gives better sustain.

5/ It has good clarity for clean work.

Ok, it may sound different to AV or a humbucker but it offers a bit of both with minimum hassle.

Really? Damn, shows how long it's been since I was in school I guess. Having said that, our old school is like a prison now, where there used to be a 4 foot gate that was never closed to get into the playground there is now an 10 foot guarded gate that is only opened at the begining and end of school, if you're late you have to go through reception which is one of those electronic doors you need to ask the receptionist to open for you. All this happened with the Sodexho/McAlpine takeover which started the year before I left.

It doesn't affect me anymore (I'm in year 13) but I have had my iPod confiscated a few times in the past, it all depends on the teacher, some say 'soo...what you listening to?'

Well, yeah, I'd expect them to have a dig if you're listening to it in a lesson, infact I don't see a need for anyone not in 6th form to take an iPod to school, it's only usefull to kill the boredome of library time. But mobile phones in this day and age are pretty essential, eispecially when payphones are getting fewer and further between and expensive when they are there.

True, I only had mine because I walked a few miles home every day.

Yeah, that's fair enough, I only really use mine with headphones when I'm on the train back to/from Wales, or if I'm in the library doing reasearch, aside from that it's permenantly plugged into my Hi-Fi.

I use mine more with the headphones (Generally play records or cd's on Hi-Fi). I did get rid of the standard white headphones almost instantly though, I don't fancy getting mugged.

I still use the original white headphones, they sound pretty good for cheap in-the-ear headphones. I generally uses either records or my iPod these days because I didn't bring my CD collection to Liverpool with me.

Today at school, I asked my friend how he could loan me the money. I found out he has the best job ever. He's not a geek or anything, but he's a video game tester. They gave him a PS3 and a Wii for free. He gets to keep the games he trys out. AND he gets paid 90$ an hour! Thats more than some college graduates make, and he's 16! He just sold his PS3 on eBay for $2,000! He is so lucky. He gets paid every 2 weeks and recently he made $1900! (BTW, he showed me). Crazy, right?

Crazy, I know a guy who's a games tester but it's obviously for a much smaller company, he said it's really dull, basically, he goes into the office, has the game, and instead of being allowed to play it properly, he has to test for errors, see if he can walk through walls and stuff like that. Don't think he gets paid that much for it and as a result he really hates computer games.
