Why does my single coil pic up sound so tinny?

try raising the pup closer to the strings.

try using the neck pup and turn the tone down a bit

a kid from the other boards brought his mustang over and complained about the same thing...and his pups were SOOO low...so I simply raised them to spec and BOOM! The sound was 100% better. Besides, it couldn't hurt.

However, the tone control is also a good suggestion. 😁
