Hmm, now I've stoped and thaught about it for a bit, and watched the YouTube videos, I'm begining to think it's not such a good idea to get the Valve Jr, I just don't think it's what I'm after.
Basically to me these days, what's important in an amp is a really nice clean sound and a good reverb, because those are the only things you can't get past with pedals, and are the two things I hate most about my Marshall as both sound dull as dishwater.
The problem with the Valve Jr, there's no reverb and adding my own sounds expensive and complicated (for a proper spring reverb) and the issue of the one-for-all volume knob. No EQ isn't a problem, what is a problem is that it appears to do Quiet and Clean or Loud and Distorted, it doesn't do Loud and Clean or Quiet and Distorted, really I want something that will do clean and dirty both loud and quiet.
For the money, the Vox AD15VT seems much more up-my-street, OK, it's not class A, but it's far more versitile, and only a few quid more. I think I'd prefer to wait for the summer and get the AD30VT though.
Sorry to have wasted your time and cheers for the help.
