Help me find a Jag!

Hi everyone,

I really want a Jaguar but there's only one that really does it for me. They all look good but this one is over the top.

The JG66B, in Olympic White, with the block inlays and binding of course. Also, with the natural maple headstock, unpainted. I've seen them around but they are really rare, and most websites only show blue, sunburst, and red ones available.

I've lurked here for a while and I remember somebody getting one just like this in a lefty. If a lefty is out there, surely a right-handed one for me must be.

If not in white, then surf green...but that's not gonna happen. 😁

Yep, I don't see it there.

Then again, I can't maneuver their website too well, but I haven't found a Jag in white.

Uh...that's a 1962 reissue, not a '66, and they don't have binding or block inlays.

It'll have to be an ebay job won't it? Fender aren't making them with binding and blocks at the moment so you'll have to hunt around for something second hand.

Just e-mail ishibashi with the model number and they may be able to get it for you. I did a quick search but wasn't able to find the exact model number. Just tell them you want a JG66B in white and they'll tell give you an answer.

I thought Fender Japan weren't allowed to ship overseas anymore?

So is there anyway to acquire this Jaguar?

Is it possible to buy the body and neck separately?

I'd say you have about four options and none of them are cheap.

1) Buy one in a different colour and get it re-finished.

2) Go to Japan and buy on then take it home.

3) Find an honest Japanese person who will buy it for you and then ship it over.

4) Wait for years and maybe one will come up on eBay.

you may be able to fidn a good luthier that could do for a good price. all you would really need is the neck to be made, then you could buy the body whenever.

just try and get a luthier to make you a bb neck. and then you can buy the body on the bay or something.

I recently bought a white CIJ Jag on E-Bay and it's really fantastic. I'm also the owner of a SRV Strato but I'm thinking to sell it right now. I haven't played it yet since I own the Jag.

Don't waste time you'll be satisfied with any Jag you'll find.

Hey Grinch...I just saw this post. I guess you're referring to my lefty white jag with blocks (http://www.jag-stang.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14080&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=)

I did a thorough search for you online and realised that indeed, a righty CIJ white jag with blocks isn't available. From what I gather, mine was only available from Taniguchi-gakki.com...even Ishibashi doesn't stock that. I'm not sure whether it's a special factory run, so there might be a chance there isn't a righty version for it (not sure whether there was in the past)

If you'd really want a white one with blocks, these folks' suggestions are prolly the only way. Or you can get an actual vintage block neck to fit into a ressiue white jag.
