Does anyone have any experience with the t-rex pedals, they're made by a danish manufacturer. I was wondering about getting the

mudhoney- very big muff, but more overdrive-ish

t-rex guys are dicks though, they made the mudhoney without even asking permission from the band mudhoney and then steve turner called them and asked them if they could both get the pedals, because its their bands name. the t-rex guys emailed back saying that it costed 250 dollars. what idiots

Yeah but I doubt Mark Arm or Steve Turner did anything to help design/make it. Isn't there copyrights concerning band names anyway (Through the record label)?

I'm not sure, but I would assume that as soon as you released any product under that name you could copyright it as a registered trade mark, which they would have been able to sue T-Rex for, as would the band T-Rex.

But I don't know, so don't quote me on that.

no they didnt sue them, they just bought the pedals

Mudhoney stole their name from a movie actually.

which would make them hypocrits to complain about it, even though TREX obviously named the pedal after their band. they shouldn't go around asking for free hand-outs, they're only Mudhoney.

The pedal is pretty awesome though. Sounds somewhere between a RAT and a Big Muff, it also has an alternative overdrive mode, so you can switch from dirty fuzzy rhythm to smooth leads. It doesnt have the same amount of gain as the Big Muff or RAT does.

a jag with a super distortion in the bridge position and a tuneomatic through a ds-2 into a twin which was missing some tubes i think. he had it running at half-power and liked it better.

edit- although now when i re-read his post it seems like he's saying this PEDAL will do that with a jag and twin... the pickups and bridge still matter a lot though.

Yes, I'm talking about the pedal...And yes pickups matter alot, but you can still get a pretty close sound.
