Thanks, all. I think once I get the frets sorted out it'd be a good workhorse. It's a weird feeling playing a guitar that's mostly plastic, but kind of reassuring knowing that it'll probably outlast most wooden ones.
Bob, are you sure it's the body, or is it the bridge itself? If it's the bridge, you ought to get that replaced or reglued; they tend to peel off with the tension and age.
And Robert, yes, it's a Ninja turtles duvet set that I got back in 1990, and has been part of the spare bedroom for years now.
