i heard this post in the voice of "pip" from south park for some reason!
the japanese re-issue mustangs have gone for more than $450 ever since around late '97. it's kind of funny that $450 was about exactly how much they costed in the mid 90's, then one day i called up musicians friend within a week of their catalogue getting to me and they'd already hiked up the price to $650, then the following year they didn't have them anymore (japanese fenders had stopped being imported and the cheaper vintage re-issue axes were assigned to the mexican factory, though not the jag and/or/- stangs).
so if you find a permanently modified (maybe routed for bigger pickups or with a bad re-fin) example on ebay maybe... or just get lucky with an auction. other than that it'd probably cost a little more, sadly enough. unless you had something really cool that someone wanted and you did a trade + cash deal or something.
