Question about neck date in 70

Hi, I recently bought a fender jaguar with serial number: 5039XX with seems to be from 73 or 74 (you know, block inlays, acrylic laquer finish, etc...). The problem is that I have removed the neck and there is no date stamp and also in the body there is nothing but a little red stamp but not legible. Is this right?. I thought all jaguars have the date stamp in their neck. I hope anyone can help me. Thanks

i know that in 72 there were no neck dates, that may be tru for 73 and 74, but i was almost positive that they had green neck dates for the mid t late 70's fenders.

btw, how much did you pay for it and would you be willing to sell?

yeah, the seller told me that it was the only mod. To my knowledge, the rest of parts are all original but I still have the doubt about the neck 🙄

Who cares if it's fake or not. The fact is, that thing's beautiful. If you don't like it, sell it off as a "real" one and buy a replacement. If I were you, I'd see no reason to worry about a lack of date, that's the sort of thing you have to worry about when selling your guitar. 😉
