dinosaur i recently noticed that the mij jazzmaster necks look like ####. that dark yellow/earwax color is disgusting.can you please post pictures of your cij headstocks plleeeeaaaasei really wanna see how they look like in normal pictures
Aug the last jag-stang I purchased was like that. Almost a puke yellow and almost fake looking. Unfortunately, I sanded that crap off and refin'd it before taking closeup pics of it.
robertoriginal my 96 jag is a carmel color from all the smoke. its the only non vintage guitar that looks vintage.im not sure how great of a pic that is.here is my girlfriends mustang, i never noticed it looking bad
GP Don't know much (anything?) about the reissues, but if they're nitro finish it yellows with time. The neck on my late 60s jazz has an amber colour to it, but I think it looks cool...
paul_ the japanese guitars aren't nitro, but they use a yellowed amber finish on the maple neck wood to LOOK like aged nitro. it's not bad at all in person, and makes you think of little else than maple, much lest earwax. i'm sure there are some (later?) examples that came out darker but most i've seen are great and they certainly go for the same colour on the maple with the AVs. much better than that naked-looking white maple on new squiers/mexican fenders anyhow.
