Yes, i like the idea of push/pull pots, then i could keep the low cut option - would it work on the single coil setting too?

Yeah, just wire it:

pickups to push-pull to off switch, then to the low cut.

Does the HH use 1Meg pots like a real Jaguar? If so they only make push/pull pots in 250k and 500k so you will get a duller tone.

I'm guessing the HH uses Gibson stylee 500k pots though.

I'm more or less worried about the pickups in the HH jag. Are they 4 wire conductor or 2 wire conductor? If they have 4, you can coil tap. If they only have 2 coming out... well... that sucks for you. You could rip the cloth wrapping off the pickups and try to manually tap them, then it could work.

i think i'd probably just splash out on some new pups, any recommendations (and don't say single coil - you lot)?

are they the dragsterJ pickups or something? if so they are 7.5k.
