Distortion Recommendations

Ok, I just want to see what you all recommend I check out as far as a distortion pedal. Below is what I have right now. Let me know what you have tried and loved.

My Rig: MXR Doubleshot Dist ->Small Clone->Memory Man-> Fender Twin

My Guitars: Fender Jaguar, Fender Mustang, Fender Tornado (Custom Shop), Squier M77, '79 Strat, Gretsch Rancher Jr

Im just looking to check out new effects. Recommend away!

I like all kinds of music. I'd say to oversimplify this....rock,hard rock, and alternative.

Feedback manipulation occasionally is necessary.

id say go for a MXR dist+ thats fine for hard rock and alternative. a big muff maybe?

I've got Jag-Stang (with SD JB) to Big Muff RU to DS-2 to Fender Super Twin Reverb '79. An ok combination, lots of options. DS-2 is a bit thin and with "turbo" gives a lot of mids etc. Big Muff makes the sound big'n'thick, but it's not the best for palm muting. Sometimes using only one distortion pedal, sometimes both on with distortion/sustain halfway on etc. But I haven't tested very many pedals, probably there are lots of better ones around. Ibanez Punk Blaster (or something like that) was my first pedal, it really sucked badly! 😆

Seriously, no joke. Somehow, I put a DS-2 through a solidstate amp with a bit of amp distortion on, cranked the settings and I got one of the best distortion sounds I've heard.

yeah the ds-2 sounds awesome with my av strat and marshall bass amp. that's like what most people use a big muff thru their little fender amp to achieve.

I'm very pleased with the Marshall Drivemaster i got off ebay.

I can do everything from slight overdrive through to thrash mayhem. Also it has bass middle & treble controls so you can dial in all sorts of tones.

They are worth a look as they seem to go cheap, picked mine up for
