Squier Jagmasters new VS. old HELP !!!!!!

Hey Mabe you can help me understand something. I have heard that the Vista series of the Jagmaster are better than the current model. Why is that? I mean the new ones have to sound better because of the duncan designed p/ups right? I mean i want to get one but the new ones are only $250 new from muscians friend. I mean finding a used one for less in good shape may be hard. What do you guys think?

The neck on the vistas series was really nice. Nicer than the new ones. The vistas also just have a better feel to them they feel like they have more to them, might be a better paint job, not sure.

The one bad thig about the vistas I didnt like was the smaller fret wires, the new ones have the med/jumbo.

The newer ones arent bad and with a little work can be just as nice. I'd upgrade the pickups in either one. They sound ok with distortion but the clean isnt all that. I like clean sounding not so muddy humbuckers.

Just my preference.

I think the new jagmasters feel more like their own guitar whereas the vistas to me seriously had the feel of a jaguar with a strat trem, which is essentially what the design was. I like the vistas better, but I'd buy one of the new ones because of the very good price.

The pups on both are pretty weak, or at least ones that I've played. I jammed with a kid who had a vista super sonic and a vista jagmaster completely stock and they sounded very good.

The early jagmasters had much better necks. Identical to a japanese Jaguar neck. The pickguard design was much better too.
