Hey guys. Please be advised, the following is nerdy and technical.
As of right now I've got my Jag HH wired up pretty much how it came standard, though I've replaced the stock 2-wire Dragster humbuckers with two 4-wire Dimarzio Super II's in parallel with the black/white wires taped together and the red/green acting as they do in regular jags with just the black/white wire single coils.
I want to change this. I want to disable the upper horn's Rhythm/Lead switch and I want the guitar to be in "Lead" mode all the time, all pickup on/off/basscut selections to be made with the three toggles on the lower control plate.
From there, I want upper horn toggle switch to act as a coil-tap for the neck pickup (which could be on or off depending on the lower control plate). I've got a 1meg push/pull pot to replace the standard 1meg volume pot, and I want to use that as a coil-tap for the bridge pickup when pulled up. I'm leaving the lower control plate and those three switches pretty much alone for this mod.
But that leaves out the upper horn volume/tone rollerpots. I was considering using them as a neck-specific volume/tone, and using the butt control plate's volume/coiltap/tone for the bridge pickup only. I don't know if I want to do this. Maybe I'll just leave the upper horn vol/tone knobs without a function and utilize the butt control plate's vol/tone to control the volume/tone for both pickups in the circuit.
This is where I need your help. The following diagram is incomplete because I'm not sure how to connect all this stuff yet and I'm wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I have some schematics that I drew from when I was modding my guitars, and a Dimarzio wiring guide at home, so I'll be updating the following wiring guide every so often once I get all that together and looking for advice as to whether or not I'm doing it right or wrong.
I just spent the last hour or two modifying Seymour Duncan's Jaguar wring guide to include two humbuckers and a push/pull pot.
