Valve jr. through a hot rod deluxe?

does any one know if it is possible to run an epiphone valve jr, 5w head through a Fender hot rod deluxe by plugging it into the "power amp in"

I believe that it is possible, but I don't want to screw anything up.

Is the "preamp out" / "power amp in" for an effects loop only?

Does the Epiphone head have a line/preamp out? Because if you connect it's speaker output to the HRD's poweramp in, you may end up with 2 dead amps.

I don't think it does, I think it just has 4, 8, and 16 ohm outputs.

Speaker output is waaaaaaaay higher a current than a line output, so DON'T connect the head up to the HRD's poweramp in.

I just found a guy willing to part with his fender 1X12 cab for $75.00. sweet.

That head should sound good with the vintage 30 I'm going to run it through.
