heavy! im guessing it be from alder not from basswood. the bridge will hold on for a while (i 'll swap it next month )

it looks as good as the vintage ones and i see that fender japan changed the way they look. im only curious about the pickups, did they change them or did the stay the same?

it was perfectly set up, the right intonation, tuning ect. but the tremolo wasnt set up perfect and the trem lock doesnt work.

how do i do this? i looked at the jazz/jag website ( the higher revol.... offset guitars) and i set it up according to that but i cant keep the knob to stay in the upward position!!! gah , it always falls down. how do i stop this?

also, the trem arm keeps making idiotic noises every time i use it a bit faster. can i fix this with electrical tape? also the spring is screeching a lot, do i need to oil both the trem arm and the spring?

that comfort decal ,looks to bbe way off, but its sexy non the less, im thinki a black guard would be a nice addition.

did you try taking the trem off and screwing the top in a bit more or less.

and yead, graphinte or grease of some sort would help alot.

i screwed the trem plate off, and i kinda fixed it. the trem lock works now but the knob still cant stay in one place it keeps moving. and the spring is too noisy. ah well

You need to balance the tension of the spring its probably too loose and like robert said put some grease on the mechanism underneath.

fixed it. i looked at that link yesterday and i couldnt set it like that but now its okay.

the thing is

3 high e strings broke, is this the bridge or the trem?

Check the bridge for any sharp or ragged edges where the string sits, and check all places where the string is in direct contact with the guitar body, other than that - #### happens.

Yeah, inspect the broken string(s). My B kept breaking on the JS at the point it goes over the saddle...obviously there was a sharp edge on the saddle that i swiftly removed with two strokes of my needle file. 😁

ok, the store that i went to doesnt have a mustang bridge in stock, but they'll have it in saturday.

so final decision : tune o matic or mustang?

i really wanna be able to palm mute well, but also i heard that the tune o matic doesnt work so good with the trem.

but i hear the mustang bridge has tuning problems.

can you give the goods and the bads of both of the bridges?

Why can't you palm mute with the stock bridge? I dont get it, i can.

tom is not radiused to the neck, it will feel awkward, the mustang bridge is fine. i use one on my tele, my jaguar and my jag-stang, and oddly enough there is one on my gfs mustang, go figure.

i would go for the mustang. its better looking too!!!

you know if you don;t like your jazzy im sure i would konw someone that would trade a mustang for it.

Mustang bridge doesn't have tuning problems, the Mustang tremolo has tuning problems, that's the bit that holds the strings in. The bridge itself is the bit that the strings roll over, it doesn't affect tuning at all.
