Best PU from SD

I'm going to change the pick ups of my CIJ Jag (the original one are not so good they make a lot of noise). My choice it's Seymour Duncan ones.

I'm thinking about a quarte pound for the enck and a hot for the bridge.

Has someone tried this combination before? Some advices?

What kind of sound are you going for?

Jazzy sound, warm chords. But also bluesy crunch. If can help I'm playing trough a Fender Blues Jr all tube amp.

Go for vintage Jag pup's, if you want more warmth buy a Jazzmaster.

What about mini humbucking from SD? Should fit Jag without any routing?

go with the antiquity II's... they're custom made awesomeness

ie: they arent mass produced, each one is made by hand in the SD custom shop, each one is inspected for their resistance and hand-signed by seymour duncan himself

for what it's worth I just put in a SD jb. jr in the bridge position of my CIJ jag and it sounds really nice. Especially if you want something warmer and more versatile but still want to retain that fender-ish tone.

If I'm not wrong this is a strat PU. But did it fit without any routing? Because there is a post on this forum where they say that strat PU are not the same of Jag ones.

I believe so, however you would then be playing a guitar with humbuckers & that #### ain't right. BTW the pup's in Jazzmaster are not Humbuckers, just oversized single coils.

I don't want an humbucking, I just want a warm sound. P90 Pu would be great (or jazzmaster ones) but I prefer not to route the body of my Jag so I'm just trying alternative solutions.

I`d say, use Fender or SD vintage pickups, and use the tone control, and the rhythm circuit for finding warmer tones. The tone controls on a Jag were meant to be used.

I have recently bought a new fender all tube amp and now the sound it a lot warmer and I can play with the rhythm circuit to make it warmer. But I think I will put a SD vintage on my CIJ Jag just to make it sound a little bit better and (maybe) a littlle less noisy.

If I'll ever solve the problem with the high E string saddle this would be the best guitar I'll have ever played!

jb jr. is technically a strat pickup. but all I did was put some foam under the pickup and used the original Jag pup screws to lock it down. I guess if you're really opposed to humbuckers (even SC sized) than maybe it's not for you, but it gets some real nice SC sounds playing around with the switches.
