that would deffinitly work.
i know that when i first did it, i was actually getting some rubbing from the strings touching the bridge piece.
so shimming the neck may have been a better overal solution.
currently that guitar is in pieces. i really should thro it back together and some picks.
its a great tele.

jb bucker(naked) in the bridge, and a cover wide range in the neck, and then of course the only full scale neck i call my favorite, which is a 96/97 squire affin tele neck that has been played so much the clear coat is GONE. it looks like a 62 jag neck.
i miss that one.
