Fitting a mute

Does anybody know how to fit the mute attachment that came with my jag, (american reissue) . . . Ta 😡

You will need to take the strings and bridge off, the bridge posts line through the two larger holes in the mute and the mute is held into place using two self tapping screws through the two smaller holes. The part with the foam obviously goes pickup side of the bridge.

keep in mind that you may have to lower each saddle becuz of the fact that the mute will make the bridge itself sit up a bit higher.

i found that out when i put a mute on my tele.

Good point. I actually shimmed my neck to compensate but the saddle alteration is way easier (if it gives you enough clearance).

that would deffinitly work.

i know that when i first did it, i was actually getting some rubbing from the strings touching the bridge piece.

so shimming the neck may have been a better overal solution.

currently that guitar is in pieces. i really should thro it back together and some picks.

its a great tele.

probly the perfect tele.

its a 72 style thinline without the f-hole.

jaguar trem and mute.

jb bucker(naked) in the bridge, and a cover wide range in the neck, and then of course the only full scale neck i call my favorite, which is a 96/97 squire affin tele neck that has been played so much the clear coat is GONE. it looks like a 62 jag neck.

i miss that one.
