My grandpa recently found a jaguar in someone's garbage and gave it to me. It works fine and after some replacement parts it is as good as new. Because I did not purchase it, I was curious as to where it came from, who made it, what year, etc.

I noticed that it fits the description of a "fake" Jaguar only half the time. What gives? If anyone can tell me what they think based on the info below that would be great.
At the base of the neck it says "Made in Japan" and has a serial number of : E625684.
After removing the neck, I found the stamped number is EJG66-75 (not listed on the site).
The neck screws are countersunk in the neckplate.
The Fender logo is engraved in the tremolo system and the patent number is 2.972.923 (the same as an authentic Jag, I think)
There is a Fender decal on the headstock, which does look very ametueurish.
I'm not sure what they mean by "exsposed gears" on the tuners, but you can see a little metal bar on the very bottom of the tuners through a hole.
I'm not sure if the dots are larger than a normal Jag's.
I'm not sure if the neck heel is more rounded or not, but I'm leaning towards it being too round.
I don't have a trem arm (yet) so I do not know if the slide switch on the tremolo is functional (it moves though).
None of the bridges have a single saddle.
The pickguard screw described is definitely on the guitar.
The case was not thrown away with the guitar so I do not have it.
