This is possibly the quirkiest and most unreliable review you could think of, but I decided it's better than nothing as I do, technically, have a quarter pounder. 😀
I've got an MIJ Jag (circa 96), so these are notorious for the tinny sounding bridge pickup. I decdied to replace it with a seymour duncan, and went for the quarter pounder. However, I got a pickup meant
to be used on the neck position (loooong story). So basically i've got a neck SJAG3 set up on the bridge, on a MIJ guitar. I'm sure there are better setups around..) It's mean sounding without being too rough, gives the extra edge I wanted, again, without ruining the guitar's unique sound. It can get a little feedbacky on loud amps. All in all it's the only mod I did to my guitar, (aside from having the bridge set up by a pro, which made a huge improvemnt playing and sound wise, than my own failed attemps) and I couldn't imagine it without it. But again, the japanese stock pickup was really weak to begin with (had no problem with the neck p/u. it's still there).
There was a url somewhere here with complete sound samples..
but I can't seem to find it. There have probably been loads of discussions on replacement pickups so you migt try to search back on the forum..
Good luck!
