i replaced the standard bridge pickup on my '62 re-issue jag with a duncan jb jr (coil tapped) to get a fatter sound. okay, it's better, but not quite what i expected. . . not much low-end. i have a li'l screamin demon which is supposed to by a lower output pickup in my mustang (no coil tap), and that thing f*ck*n cooks with bottom end tone for days. does anybody think this has to do with the wiring on the guitars? or would performing a coil tap effect how the pickup responds in humbucker mode?
