mod my 65 mustang?

I recently picked up a 1965 (not a reissue) mustang for around $400 and i am wondering if i should mod it? It has been refinished and has been routed for a humbucker

I was thinking of putting in a JB [since my favorite guitarist use them (Jerry Cantrell, Dean DeLeo, Cobain, Adam Jones and James Iha)] since the guy routed it for a humbucker and rewiring it and adding a 500k pot in where the original input jack was, and using the ghetto mod strat input jack.

I was also thinking about doing the kurt trick and adding a Tune o Matic, since the high e string has lost some wood on the fretboard.

So i was wondering what you guys think?

thats not all bad. i wouldn't do all that tho,

i would try to restore it.

yeah i would love to get the routing fixed, get it refinished in Fiesta red, and add a tortoise pickguard, but i really do not have the funds to do that. btw what single coils do you recommend?

Terrapin guitars. I supplied them with the template (actually the pickguard to make it) for an AV '65 because all he (John) had was a template for the reissues. He does good work and is reasonably priced. Try Augustus first though. If he does it for you, he'll probably charge you even less and post pics, which is cool.

As far as 'modding' your guitar, Leo would say do with it whatever makes you happy. Most of his work that he did with MusicMan involved "mods".

Besides, toilet paper is worth more than public opinion.
