I've got a blank swamp ash Jazzmaster body. I'll be staining the wood with goat's blood. Here's the quandary:

Do I apply the grain filler / sand and sealer before, after, at all?

And if I decide to do a burst?

Just absolutely clueless.

If you add grain filler after then the grain filler will be a different colour, so I would fill the grain first, but I don't know about staining the wood and how goat blood will take to grain filler like it will to wood, so wait for another responce on that one.

As for doing a burst, there's a really good guide to doing it on http://www.projectguitar.com.

Yes, I'm really using goat's blood, in all likelihood, from a retarded goat.

I suppose my best option right now is to do some more small tests with my own blood--it turns a deep and muted red-brown which lets the grain show. (Pearloid pickguard, probably?)

This'll take some time yet, but you'll all see it when I'm done.

I could see pearloid working. Maybe one that doesn't have dark crinkles(?), cause you want the focus on the finish...I guess

It'll look like walnut (or something), and have a clear coat over it, so no smell. All well and good to me.

Did he? Suppose it was clear plastic like one of them old Teiscos? Not at impressive as I might have once thought. Much to my surprise, mass quantities of free blood seem to be readily available from sources of all kinds. I don't know what to make of this fact.

As for any dilema related to Slipknot, that I'm not wearing giant orange pants gilded with superfluous straps and pockets should be a dead giveaway: I don't like them.

As for availability of blood. I think you can get it from most butchers shops and things like that, which makes total sense really. Not that that has tempted me to want to smear it all over my prized posessions though, but each to their own.
