narrowing down amps for jazzmaster

hey, I need some help choosing an amp for my 76 jazzmaster. I play rock music, and I'm looking for a good clean sounding amp. I've narrowed it down to a few and was wondering what you all think. Orange tiny terror, Fender bassman head, fender bandmaster head, fender showman

I've got an old bassman and think it's great. There's a lot of them about, but prices seem to be creeping up. My only gripe with it is the lack of reverb, tho I like the fact there ain't much to go wrong with it. Oh, and I've never heard a jazzy through it, only my squier strat and hh jag, which both sound great. It's just got a lovely clean tone.

i don;pt think the orange tiny terror would give you much of a clean sound.......

personally i would go with the Bassman or the Bandmaster. I have a 90's Blues Deville (which Fender reissued last year) and I love it. Pretty much a Bassman with a dirtier Drive channel and 60W (vs. 45).

thanks for the responses, I'm also leaning towards a bassman, but I wanted to throw one more amp in the ring. has anyone tried a jazzmaster with a vox ac15? I'd be getting one of the reissues if I get one, but I'm just curious if anyone has tried one. I'm at school right now and my jazzmaster is about 400 miles away, and there is a guitar center about 45 miles from here, so I cant just bring my jazzy to try the amp.

definately try the AC15.

I've played my Jaguar through an AC30 in the studio and live, but i'm not sure that helps. If you go to the GC, get all the amps you wanna try and then say 'now leave me alone'

all these valve amps are surely better for harmonic distortion, when cranked up? though the clean is nice at around 30-40% of volume, you might be best off with something solid state...

My jazzmaster also sounds ace through my 90s blues deville (I got the 2x12 version): if you can find one its definitely a more versitle option to the bassman. And I reckon the orange AD amps have amazing clean sounds, if you can find an Ad30 head theyre amazing!

I have a Mesa Studio 22+ (Ancestor of the New Mesa Express) sounds great with my modded Jag Special especially in Singlecoil Mode 😁

It has been coined before as a Vox on Steroids 😉

Hi! I've just bought a silverface bassman 50. I had the chance to try a 66 bandmaster in the shop as well, both are great amps, but (at least in this case) bassman reaches darker sounds keeping brightness, while bandmaster seemed brighter but lower sound, it is 40W and bassman's got 50. On the other hand bassman has neither tremolo nor reverb channels, bandmaster has not reverb... anyhow both are great amps, sure you won't make a mistake 😛
