hello all,

i just join this forum and im from malaysia.

Recently i bought a CIJ fender mustang MG65-86. i can say its a beauty from the quality and the tone of the guitar. Perfect for doing solo on blues.

However, i have a curiousity..When playing solo, the sound is in perfect tune, but when you playing chords (power chords) its seems like the string is out of tune..i have not done any pro setup on it yet..could this be the setup (intonation, bridge height etc) problem?

How high is your action? My best guess from your description would be that your action is way high so when you play a chord your increasing the pitch. Kinda like bending the strings.

Welcome to the forum, Stone G

First you have to check the intonation, if you do not know how to do it try a google search. If it is bad you need to learn how to intonate or get pro setup. But even if a guitar has perfect intonation you can

hmm..i think my action is not high..is just at my comfort playing level..

but i will try to look if there is any improvement after adjusting it..i bet you guys dont have this sort of problem right?

I figured you would have checked the intonation? Just set the intonation first and get back to us if it's still happening.

i think i've settled my problem..it was the action..too low..

seems weird..but after i increased it..the problem's gone..

now i want to know the details spec about the guitar..do you guys know?..it's MG65-86, CIJ and produced in 2006. anybody knows the specs?
