Still can't get the bridge cover on...

I can't get the bridge cover to stay on my Jazzmaster.

I ordered the Jaguar bridge cover on musicians friend, and it won't fit.

I assumed since the bridges on the Jags are the same as Jazzmasters, it would fit, but it doesn't screw in, and when I put it on, it isn't secure...at all.

And yeah, I'm that dumb.

It should fit Jazzys, Jags, and Mustangs. Maybe it's because yours is Japanese?

Well, supposedly it should fit anyway.

But even if that's the case, how DOES it fit on?

It's not even like it could snap on. I don't get it.

bend the lips inward a bit with some plyers. these 4 parts:

the underside of the bridge cover

or, if they aren't wide enough for the cover to fit on, bend them outwards

use a lighter on the inside to soften the metal first. just don't blacken up the outside and F it up

Only problem is, now its all bent and whatnot, and rather ugly.

perhaps we forgot that we should have advised you to wrap the plyer claws in a cloth, so you don't scratch through the nickel. and only bend them in small amounts. you shouldn't have bent them visibly out of shape. but just slightly, then check it, then do the same again until it fits

When it's on, you cant tell.

What sucks is, I though that I should use a cloth, but the first one didn't leave any marks, so I just kept going. v_v
