I have been doing someting similar, I was messing about on ebay and ended up with a CIJ Jaguar body. No electronics or anything, just the body and have spent the last 5 months slowly tracking down parts for it.
I am almost done, just waiting on 1 last package to come in from America!
It's a really great way to do it and I have been quite pleased with how its turning out. The only reason why I might have gone down the expensive warmoth route would have been for a custom paint job as I don't trust myself to do a paint job myself. I'm happy with the standard sunburst though, and the few scratches on the used body don't bother me much, have gotten used to them now!
