I finally Got some pictures of the Les Paul Jr. I am making. I have done a lot since these pictures have been taken but you can get an idea of what its like.

since these have been taken ive done lots of sanding and smoothing on the neck and body, routed out space for the pickup in the front and electronics in the back, drilled hole for the pots, installed the tuners, made a neck pocket, and fixed up my homeade pickgaurd a little. I've never built a guitar and have little clue how to so any constructive criticism or tips would be of great help.

Yeah, looking good so far. Robert(original) who posts here is a luthier, so he may be able to help you with technical issues. Also Aug is pretty handy at building bodies, painting etc...

Yes, its mahogany that i laminated, and thanks for the compliment! im dying to get the new pics up i just have to get my camera back. Today im installing the truss rod. When paint/ Laquer it i cant decide whether to do tv yellow , a cherryish, or just clear and see how that turns out.

I'd have to say tv yellow i think the red stain guibson's using makes them look cheap and nasty but the yellow on the other hand looks better and more vintigy

A good tip is to not round the neck until you have installed the truss rod, fretboard and frets.

Using a bandsaw to cut out pickguards is a lot easier than using hand saws. Router tracing is also a preferred method.

Yeah i kinda figured the truss rod should be one of the first actions on the neck but i didnt know how to do it until like 2 days ago. I started rounding the neck right after i got the headstock angled and right.

i really want to see things thing come to life becuz there are alot of people building bodys and what not but i can only think of me, cross and now you that are doing the whole thing all the way thru.

you have my complete suport, any questions you have, just pm and i will help you the best i can.

i envy you for using mahogony too, its such an easy wood to work with.

next time try shaping a maple neck, it'll put hair on your chest.

Thanks bro, but it certainly is takin two people. Me with the knowledge of how to build it and such, and the amazing woodworking skills of my dad. Not to say i dont do a heck of a lotta sanding and routing but its his knowledge of tools and wood (dont misconstrew). Im 14. I dont know much. But yeah, it is much more fufilling to do the entire thing from scratch. So many people are amazed that we have gotten as far as we have (the pics will be posted! sorry bout the delay). No one thought we could do it.

It's a lot better than my first effort.

My Dad also helped me build my first guitar when I was 13-14.

We built a custom designed warlock/maton style guitar. The body is perfect. I recently rebuilt the neck as the original was not up to scratch. I still play it, it sounds awesome.

Heres some new pics, lots of routing has been done, and i sprayed some coating on it.

Im back with my mom now, so my dads going to glue the neck and get the fretboard on, send it to me and ill do the electronics. Heres some pics of it put together(but not glued) just to see what it will look like. It will be clear coated. The grain way too nice to do anything else.

thats awesome man a decent warlock is an oddity these days. is it HH configs?

I'll have to show you some pics of it. It's not really a warlock design, it's a lot less funny looking than a Warlock. It does have double humbuckers.

I recently renovated the whole look of the guitar so it looks something like a Mosrite now.
