Looking for a switch fix...

My bridge switch moves to the off position while I'm playing. It's happened at some really inopertune times, 😡 so I've used clear packing tape to keep it from moving. It's not the classiest solution, but it works. Wondering if anyone has come up with a better idea. I know it's a common problem -- I've seen some players put duct tape over their switches.

if you still wanna use the other switch positions, stick with the clear packing tape. Duct tape looks weird, and from a far it is hard to notice the clear tape

Either the switch is loose and moves too easily, or something is severely wrong with your strumming style.

i was thinking recently, cause i have the same problem with the rhythm switch on the jag what about those plastic wall switch protectors that swivelinto place!

a couple of washers and a tad longer screws seem to be the way to go. now my switches on the stang and jag only stick out maybe 1/8th of an inch...

I agree that the switch is probably loose. If not, then try to file the switches down using a file or sandpaper. be sure to stop very frequently to blow the filings away that will away accumulate in the switch slotwhile you are filing.

You could lower the switches so you don't hit it anymore when you strum. All you need to do is place some small washers under neath the switch when it's screwed into the pickguard. This should fix the problemsince I have been through it aswell.
