Probably best to disregard the Grunge pedal. It isn't a bad pedal, it just doesn't give you a "grunge" sound. Go straight into the amp, use the bridge bucker and make sure you have plenty of bass and mids. The tone has to be "muddy", but not indistinct. It's more about the way you play than what you play through, anyway.
