I recently found an Eastwood Hornet guitar although I can't find much about it on line, I know it's discontinued, only one review on Harmony-Central and no past or present auctions on Ebay for them so I don't have much to go on. Does anyone have any info on the build of the guitar, wood used, scale, all that jazz?
I did play it for a good hour and a half through a few different amps, a tweed Bassman, Deluxe Reverb and a Twin Reverb. Sounded great through all of them. The pickups mixed with fuzz just made a killer sound although the pickups were quite microphonic, never fed back tho. I do enjoy how the microphonicness of them really adds to the overall tone.
I can tell the guitar was modded at one point too, Looks like they added a separate place for the knobs and pickup switch. It also has 4 knobs all of which appear to do nothing, locking tuners, and a 3 way tele style switch for 3 pickups 😕
Oh and the neck, so comfortable, really nice and fat. There were a few small dings on the guitar, nothing big though. I might even be able to get my student discount on it or be able to talk them down a bit.
Anyways tho if anyone can chime in with some input about this guitar, experiences or just your thoughts on the worth of it.
Edit:Owner of Eastwood just sent me the old web page for the Hornet.
