this is not something I'd recommend that you do yourself if you have these questions.
Fret removal is quite tricky and permanant damage to the fretboard can result. Also, you'll need quite a few expensive specialty tools to recut the grooves, re-radius the board, install the frets, fret level and crown, etc...
take it to a tech, dude.
