i own to orginal 96 jagstangs one is sonic blue and in perfect condition i got it for 250. the other is fesita red and was taken apart the body was all scrached up and the guy drew a giant #### on the back of it i got it for 200. so the question is how much did you pay for your fender jag-stang. also isent the paint jobs on them the worst!!!!

Paid $350 w/HSC for mine, complete with the EMG pickups already hack-ass installed by the previous owner with scads of electrical tape. As for issues, it had 2 large chips in the body (now it has more, lol, a lot more), Some small rewiring, and my special trem overhaul later (after much pondering about the mechanics), that off-set waisted shredder was born, and it has been 100% perfect ever since.

I never really disliked the finishes, I kind of find it facinating because it looks more like Fender just dipped the bodies in some thick plastic coating colored their version of Sonic Blue or Fiesta Red rather than primed and painted the body. My Jaguar's finish is thinner and seemes a lot harder to chip for some reason though. I don't mind the dings though, it's got some good "mojo" going on with it, lotsa stories.

I had one around '97 that cost me 320 pounds and i had an 04 model (i think) last year that cost me 300 pounds.

i got mine a year ago and payed about 600 USD. it was in almost mint condition. its a '97 i believe.

I was working for Guitar Center at the time I ordered/bought my '04 reissue. Paid cost for it which was right around $400. I just thought that it was amazing that when I did, only ONE other Guitar Center had one on order, let alone in stock. According to the info at the time, I got the 2nd Jag-Stang sold at a Guitar Center. The other Guitar Center that was getting one was also a special order, so it looks to me that even though the Jag-Stang was supposedly a HOT item, Guitar Center never got any as normal stock. I often wonder how many of the reissues were even sold at Guitar Centers.

guitar center never has anything good, teles,strats, les pauls, and sg;s in all the colors of the rainbow, but they never have a jag, mustang, jazzy, cyclone, toronado, or anything like that.

you should never have to pay more than 500.00 for a used one, and thats with a hardshell case and everything.

there was never a 94 model, the first year of production was in 95, i don;t believe that was a retail price difference but on the ebay market people wil lpay 100 bucks more to a 96 as opposed to an 04.

The only dif. in retail price was inflation. In '95 MSRP was 619.99 W/O case and 774.99 W Hardshell case. In '04 MSRP was 756.99 W gig bag.

Truth be told, I don't think there is a large number of reissues floating around out there to really affect the price of original run vs. the reissue run. 9 times out of 10 when you find a Jagstang on Ebay, its got a 50th anniversary sticker on it, that tells me that they are in far greater number than any other year. The only thing that I think could affect price is if someone could really prove that one year in particular was made with better quality than another.

I paid $500 for my Sonic Blue '96/w HSC last year. I had a '96 Fiesta Red a few years back I bought for $330 at a second hand store.

i just bougth a 96-97 fiesta red off of ebay for $600... came with a hardshell case... the guy i bought it off of was the original owner... everything is original on it... its in what i would describe "mint" condition... i felt i paid a lil to much but when i finally got it and saw what condition it was i instantly felt i got it at a good price...

I love Music Go Round! I used to have one about a mile from my house and I would go there almost everyday after school and spend hours there playing all the unique guitars they would get in. In fact, I picked up my '65 Twin Reverb reissue from that store. Of course, they were selling it as used, but I knew the previous owner and he bought the amp brand new only one month prior to selling it to Music Go Round b/c of some debt problems. Picked up a brand new Twin amp for $500!!! I miss that store....
