fanboy my fetboard always seems damp and/or icky and dark residue comes off onto my fingers and the strings seem to corrode quickly. i've had the guitar for awhile (6 years) so i don't think it was in a flood or anything. the season is humid now so maybe that has something to do with it but the strings become corroded more quickly on the guitar than my other guitar with a maple board. any suggestions on how to clean the board and maintain the strings?
robertoriginal get some linseed oil to condition the board, and or you can get lizard spit conditioner.and for the strings try using fast fret.or just was your hands
